Meal Plan Monday: Recipe for fun

So summer is almost here and I’m excited! I’ve been planning our welcome summer shindig and came across these pictures in my archives.

We made them one day when we had no school back when it was still cold. They are just water bottles covered with foil.

I’ve been looking at the bag of empty water bottles we save for crafts and wracking my brain at what we could do with them for fun and we just made it up as we went along.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Empty water bottles (as many as you’d like to make)

Construction paper in your colors of choice (1 for the dome, 2 for the fire blast, and a couple of others for windows and any other trimmings)

foil- You want it long enough to wrap around once

plastic bags-we used about 7-10

glue stick or tape

Directions:

First stuff your water bottle with some old plastic bags. We stuffed ours full so that it wouldn’t budge when we grabbed it or threw it.

Then wrap your bag stuffed bottle in foil. It should be enough to wrap around once and make a tail.

( Sorry in advance for imperfect pictures)

Cut strips of construction paper for your fire blasts and glue them to the inside of your foil tail and scrunch foil together.

Cut a big circle for your dome and then cut a slit halfway through the middle. Turn the two pieces into one another to create a dome and glue or tape shut.

Embellish with windows, stars, colors and more!

My boys still have these hanging around and we eventually cut two foam triangles and taped them to the sides. A fun easy project that even a little can do.
